Our Mission

Muzzi Family Farms is committed to ensuring the sustainability of our various facility protocols to protect the environment. Our continual commitment is to use proven sustainable approaches that limit adverse effects on the environment. These approaches include implementing sustainable facility energy solutions, purchasing environmentally safe and renewable consumables, proper recycling, and utilizing automated systems to manage our operation.

Focusing on Alternative Energy

According to the World Coal Association, over 41 percent of coal is used to produce electricity in the world, causing severe global warming and greenhouse effects. Solar energy is naturally more environmentally sustainable than fossil fuel energy sources, making use of the greatest, most sustainable, and renewable resource on the planet: sunlight.

There is a specific need for us to use an alternative energy source to generate electricity and using solar energy can go beyond reducing carbon emissions. Our use of solar energy will help slow climate change and global warming. And with solar technologies evolving each year, solar power is becoming more and more accessible to everyone, including Muzzi Family Farms.

Benefits of Solar Energy

  • Since solar is easier, cleaner, and safer to transport than other energy sources such as oil, coal and natural gas, it creates a significantly smaller negative environmental and social impact
  • In contrast to risks such as oil fires and spills, fracking sinkholes, and coal mine landslides, solar only results in slight CO2 emissions during the transportation and production of the solar panels
  • The minimal land usage for solar compared to other energy sources helps prevent damage to local habitats
  • Clean and safe, solar energy avoids the pollution and resulting negative consequences such as acid rain, global warming and contaminated water that arise from fossil fuels and nuclear energy
  • Solar energy is completely renewable, able to be used indefinitely without diminishing its future availability
